After the discovery of the Red-necked Phalarope last night, I was pleased to hear that it was still present and showing well this morning. I hurried down and managed to reel of some shots that thankfully came out ok despite the foggy look to my objective lens possibly caused by the sea spray from the pelagic a couple of weeks ago. The Ruff was on pools on the Parrett Estuary bank and showed well albeit rather mobile.

Some photos of my trip to Coombe Hill Meadows for the Stilt Sandpiper. I never caught up with it from Grundon Hide where it showed well.

The high tide wader roost gave great views of 1,000 waders, 30 of which were Knot. They proved tricky to photograph so I opted for the traditional pose of a roosting bird. Until the tide dropped a little the birds were pushed around constantly by dog walkers but always stayed faithfull to the beach.

It was great to catch up with Garganey at Weston STW again after failing to get pictures of the last one on 8th July. With no equipment I had to walk back to the car and then relocate the bird which had moved but showed well amongst the Mallards.
