Red-legged Thrush. This bird reminded me of a Blackbird. It would flick its wings and tail and make a "puk puk puk" call as a Blackbird. Several seen around the resort including a juvenile. The bird had distinctive white corners on the tail similar to turtle dove.
Vervain Hummingbird. The second smallest bird in the world. It certainly looked tiny. On one occasion I nearly mis-identified one as a dragon fly! The bird above gave a great photo opportunity landing on a branch for over a minute. I just pointed the camera and took as many shots as possible before it flew.
Antillian Mango. Quite a common hummer but it still took me a week and a half to get a decent photo of one. This bird regularly came back to the same tree so I just waited the next morning and bingo.
Palm Warbler. A non-descipt bird but this one struck me as being different by having the distinctive supercilium. It reminded me of a Tree Pipit. The bird hung around for most of the time in this coniferous tree and rarely gave good views. Only 1 seen on the resort.
Yellow-throated Warbler. It certainly makes your day to find one of these brightly coloured warblers. This one I found on the resort just 2 days before I was due to leave. Possibly a migrant.
Carribean Martin. This bird was seen regularly on hot days in groups of up to 5 over the resort.
White-winged Dove. A few of these could be seen bombing around the resort. One was regularly in the tree outside of our apartment. The shot from below was virtually from the balcony. The song was a four note "coo".
White-crowned Pigeon. Separated from Plain pigeon in flight by the white crown. This bird was present along with Plain Pigeon on site in small numbers.
Turkey Vulture. Occasionally seen over the resort. I did see plenty on my trip to the hills.
Northern Mockingbird. A common bird over the area. I saw at least 3 juveniles. The song reminds me a lot of Song Thrush.
